If you’ve always wanted a hot tub or hydrotherapy spa in your home but are worried that you don’t have the space for one, corner hot tubs could provide the ideal solution. Taking up much less space than standard hot tubs while still providing all the relaxation, rejuvenation and health benefits you expect from a hydrotherapy spa, corner hot tubs are also a modest and subtle option for those who don’t want to feel like they’re living in a health club.
With the large number of options available and the wide variety of suppliers based in the UK, obtaining a corner hot tub for your home has never been cheaper or easier. Choosing between models and suppliers though does require a knowing what’s available and what the implications of installing a hot tub are.
Corner Hot Tubs: The Options
There are two main varieties of corner hot tubs to choose from: standard hot tubs and hydrotherapy spas.
-
Standard Hot Tub
Corner hot tubs are usually built to accommodate 2 people though larger models are available. Made from moulded plastic or wood they maintain water temperature set by the user on a control panel and may or may not incorporate water or bubble nozzles. Perfect for relaxing after a hard day with a beer or glass of wine.
-
Hydrotherapy Spa
The more expensive option. Made from plastic with reclining or bucket seats moulded into the shape. Each seat is fitted with nozzles that direct jets of water and bubbles at specific muscle groups or joints to massage and soothe. Temperature, pressure etc are controlled by a digital panel. Higher end models also include stereo/iPod docks and speakers, mood lighting and water features for maximum relaxation.
Installing Corner Hot Tubs
Corner hot tubs can be integrated into your home in a variety of ways. Most come in a variety of colours with a variety of different finishes or you can employ an interior designer or building firm to build your hot tub into your bathroom suite, pool house or garden, sink it into the floor etc.
You’ll need a qualified electrician to connect your hot tub to your mains electricity supply as most hot tubs run off 16A or 30A supplies. If using chlorine or other chemicals you’ll also need to ensure the room is well ventilated.
Buying Corner Hot Tubs
We recommend gathering quotes from several different suppliers to ensure you’re maximising your options and getting the keenest prices. Make sure deliver and installation (where available), filters, pumps, heaters and chemicals are included in the quotes. If you’re financing your hot tub purchase remember to work out exactly what you’ll be paying over the life of the term to compare different providers.
