When looking at office removal prices check what is included in the service, as some firms offer to pack and dissemble furniture, computers, phones and so on. In addition, some services offer unpacking, box supply and removal, furniture assembly, IT connection and a full cleaning service. You may also want to consider factors such as whether vans are equipped with removal blankets, trolleys and GPS systems.
You find quotes for an individual job (by an hourly rate) or a fixed removal price. With hourly rates, you are usually charged from the time when the driver arrives at the pickup address, and the charge ends when the job is done.
A one man and van service is suitable for moving a small amount of goods, but you may need a larger van or truck and more man power for removals on a larger scale. As a rough guide though, the cost for one man and a Transit van is around £40 per hour, for half a day (up to 4 hours) it costs around £160 and for a full day (8 hours) prices are around £310. For 2 men and a Luton van it costs around £50 per hour, half a day is around £200 and a full day is approximately £395. For 3 men and a Luton van, the cost per hour is £65, up to 4 hours is around £260 and a full day is £510. With hourly charges, there is usually a minimum charge of 2 hours. There may also be a minimum charge of three hours for 3 men and van removal jobs. The prices above are inclusive of VAT.
Alternatively, prices may vary depending on the size of the van that you hire. For a 3.5 ton van with 1 man it can cost around £65 per hour. This rises to £75 per hour for 2 men, £100 per hour for 3 men and £125 per hour for 4 men. Additional costs may include 3.5% charge for credit or debit card payments and an £8 surcharge if going through a congestion zone between the hours of 6.00am and 6.00pm on a weekday. The time at which you wish to move (such as over night or at the weekend) may affect the price of the removal, therefore check to see if there are additional charges for these times of day. For example, removals before 6.00am and after 6.00pm may be subject to an increase of £5 to the standard hourly rate. You may also find offers on weekend removals, such as £50 per hour for 2 men and a van.

For removals to West England it costs £330 for 1 man, £420 for 2 men and £490 for 3 men. For the far West England it is £410 for 1 man, £500 for 2 men, and £590 for 3 men. For the North of England removals cost £450 for 1 man, £540 for 2 men and £630 for 3 men. These costs increase to £490 for 1 man, £590 for 2 men and £690 for 3 men for the far North of England. To Northern Ireland, removals cost £630 for 1 man, £730 for 2 men and £830 for 3 men. To South Scotland, it costs £590 for 1 man, £690 for 2 men and £790 for 3 men. To North Scotland it costs £690 for 1 man, £790 for 2 men and £890 for 3 men. These prices may be subject to VAT, and in some cases, removals over great distances can increase above these prices stated here. For example, costs of removals to North Scotland with 3 men can reach up to £1480.
In addition to the cost of hiring a man and van, there may be extra costs for packing materials. Large boxes (45/45/52 cm) are around £3.50 each, medium boxes (45/45/30 cm) are £3 each and small boxes (43/38/35 cm) are £2.50 each. Tape (48mm / 66mm) can cost £1.50 per roll and bubble wrap (50 cm / 10m) is around £5.00 per roll.
