Computer support service prices greatly vary from one provider to another. Providers offer two options—pay-as-you-go and monthly service payments. In the first option, customers pay per job and only hire support staff when needed. Providers that offer monthly services charge depending on the type of support needed—online, remote, or onsite. Computer Support Types

Pay per Job

Some providers charge by the hour while others charge depending on the type of job you need done. Take a look at one company’s service rates:

  • Virus or malware removal £30
  • Desktop or laptop tune-up and optimisation £40

Some service prices vary depending on what means are necessary to carry out the job, such as data recovery. Likewise, some prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Another company offers any and every small and medium-sized business or SMB access to IT support without any form of commitment or ongoing costs. It offers both pay-as-you-go and monthly services. Its pay-as-you-go service prices are based on a break/fix principle on a first come, first served queuing basis. As soon as an engineer becomes available, he or she is assigned to see to your request and either connects remotely or attends to your needs onsite, depending on the level of support you need. Its pay-as-you-go charge is £30 for remote support and £50 for onsite support per incident.

Monthly Support

Instead of paying per job, businesses usually pay for computer support services on a monthly basis. How much you pay per month, of course, depends on what firm you hire.

One provider has a monthly plan costing £8 per computer per month or £80 per computer per year.

Another charges for monthly services such as:

Another provider has two types of plan—standard and premium IT support. The standard plan offers common services such as:

  • Windows and patch updates
  • 24 x 7 incident logging and server monitoring
  • Hardware and software procurement
  • Annual computer health check
  • System moves and changes
  • Out-of-office hours
  • Online data backup
  • Fully managed antivirus protection

Its premium plan offers all of the above plus:

  • Multiple office support
  • VPM support

The monthly charge for the standard plan is £90 while that for the premium plan is £110.

Which Service Suits You Best?

When it comes to features, not all plans are the same. Some may include services like software procurement while others don’t. The more features there are doesn’t necessarily affect the plan either. Online, telephone, and remote support services are standard but onsite support services are usually charged based on number of hours.
